We booked an area for my mates 30th and were told 5 days before the party and only after lots of hassling that they had actually sold it...So I wouldn't count on going there for a while - let's hope the new owners are a bit more organised

Without doubt one of the most unpleasant bar/club experiences of my life. I was at Nectar on Saturday night for a friend's birthday party and arrived to the find a jam-packed nightclub in the middle of summer without a single fan in sight, nevermind air-conditioning. People were literally standing around sweating into their drinks. Staff refused to open windows/doors for ventilation and it took over 20 minutes to get served at the bar. All this after being made to pay to get in before 10pm despite being on the guest list. I'd been there before and had a below-average night when it first opened, but I can assure you I will never visit again...

Nectar has a divine interior, very versatile in function and decor. Proving to be a mission impossible on the drinks front, but with a little patience you soon get served. The bar staff are a pleasant bunch and do beam their beady eyes if you have downed one too many. You could say this place is as sweet as Nectar.

This place is horrendous - due to the really rude and arrogant staff. We were met with bar staff downing shots and ignoring us, then offering a blank stare when asking to be served. Our friends were genuinly met at the door by "what do you want" by this thai lady who was bar manager for the night. We had been hired to DJ for the night, and were told the turntables had no needles (erm, a bit important i think), so we arranged for replacements. Then the mixer didnt work, and the turntable had no earth connection and a bare exposed live wire cable - breaching health and safety. The speakers were knackered as well. Then when we pointed out the safety concerns about the cabling we were told to shut up or GET OUT - then got kicked out by the bounder - leaving the bar with no music!! What a bunch of fools - they have no idea how to run a business, we oursleves diverted 47 people away due to such arrogance and will never go back.

"it looks absolutely fantastic from the outside. The builders must have been working there little cotton socks off to produce such a massive change at such a speed. Maybe they were on drugs?"

Nectar is as an 'intimate bar with a retro style and shocking 80s wallpaper', which makes me curious to see more - shocking wallpaper? Do we think pink? Zebra print? The bar has a 2am license Friday and Saturdays (From Nov 24th) and 12am during the week, so get there early, bag a cosy sofa with your mates and be prepared to chill. Alternatively sit outside on the terrace to soak up that late summer sunshine over a signature Nectopia cocktail - made with Royal Jelly and wild Japanese bee honey. Andrea Fiorenza from Harry's Bar and Gareth Lambert from Century have designed the cocktail list based around unique fruit and nectar concoctions, so expect original combinations to start your evening with a swing.Musically expect some fine contributions from Mishmash in Clapham and Living's favourite DJs aimed at a sophisticated 20-30 something crowd. On Fridays they have Honeycomb with the Wildstyle DJs Stuart Style and Adam Wilde bringing you early classic house mixed in with 80/90s. On Saturdays it will be Ambrosia with the Negligee Djs Joe Egg and Paul Knight - think 80/90s disco delights and car boot classics. Nectar also have some great midweek nights lined up.The food is provided by Vito de Girolama the award winning Italian chef. His food is clasis citalian with a great range of home made authentic Italian pizzas and calzones.. Entry is free during the week and ?5 after 9pm Fri/Sat (free b410, ?3 after on the guestlist). You can book your guestlist or reserve area online at www.nectarbar.co.ukNectar can also be hired for private parties during the week till 2am Sunday-Thursday. There is no hire fee but there is a minimum bar spend of ?500. Ideal for birthday parties and corporate events.
